Email tools – the handy list!

In order to manage an email list, you need to have the software to do so.  Use a hosted solution such as those listed below.  They are easier to set up and manage, and they are also white listed, which means the major ISPs trust emails sent from their servers.  This helps improve deliverability, so more people will actually receive your emails instead of having them go to their spam box where they will never be seen. There are many different hosted solutions to choose from:

Aweber.com

Aweber.com is one of the most trusted solutions.  They are reasonably priced, especially for smaller lists, and they are white listed by almost every major ISP.

GetResponse.com

Get Response is another major player in the industry.  Their prices are a little lower than Aweber.com, but the services they offer are similar.

MailChimp.com

If price is a factor, Mail Chimp might be a good solution.  Their service is free while your list is small.  Once it grows, their prices are extremely reasonable.

Cheetahmail

The definitive enterprise email tool used by all the biggies: KLM, HMV, Aer Lingus. A great tool if you are sending out hundreds of thousands of emails a day, a week, a month. Expensive, but worth it.

Yesmail

Another enterprise email tool used by the likes of Coca-Cola and HP. Competes directly with Cheetahmail.
